You miss that the Christians were around long before the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church is an outgrowth of the Roman Empire. The early Christians were persecuted and killed by the Roman Empire. It was the Romans that tried, convicted, and nailed Jesus to a cross. But they are not to blame. It was all part of God's plan of salvation.

Churches fear people will think on their on and consider alternatives to the story they preach.

Dut dut

I didn't say anything about Christians in general, or even Catholics (the ones I know are fine people). I'm talking specifically about the Church itself, and the Church leadership.

There are plenty of people who go to church and think on their own.

Which "Church"? Most often when someone says, "the Church" they mean the Catholic Church.

Absolutely.

I questioned the Bible and God and rejected both for a while and then I woke up to the Truth.

I think that most that want to dismiss God and the Bible just want to live and do without regard to eternal consequences or don't want to believe that there is a being more powerful than themselves.
