copperheads

My husband spotted a big copperhead under a log at the end of our driveway, most likely nesting. We're sure there are more, especially as we had a lot of trees come down over the winter. We don't let our dogs go into the woods surrounding out home but rather keep them in the clear parts of the yard, yet it's still very worrisome that one of them could get bit. It terrifies me that could happen. I know snake away and similar things are on the market but I'd be afraid the snakes could get locked in rather than out. Does anyone know of any real, secure options???
