Woman Killed After Leaping Into Thai Crocodile Pit

Sun Aug 11, 2:09 PM ET

BANGKOK (Reuters) - A Thai woman killed herself by jumping into a pit of more than 100 crocodiles, shocking crowds of onlookers at a Bangkok reptile farm on Sunday.

The woman, 40, climbed a 6-foot-high fence and jumped into a concrete enclosure at the Famut Prakarn Crocodile Farm on the outskirts of the Thai capital, a tour guide who witnessed the event said.

A crocodile dragged the woman into a pond and several animals swarmed over and tore her body apart.

"She did not cry or scream when she was bitten," Tanet Virayaporn, the tour guide, told Reuters. "It happened so quickly. Nobody could do anything."

Police said the woman had left a suicide note in which she complained about her husband and apologized to family members.

Hundreds of people were visiting the crocodile farm, a popular tourist attraction, when the woman committed suicide.

~~~~~~~
One heck of a way to commit suicide...
Ugh! What a horrible way to go - and voluntarily at that!!
It has got to be bad when you can't think of a better way to off yourself than that!!
Thumbs down Yuck
If you want to off yourself, fine. I can imagine the trauma she created for the people who witnessed it...but she probably didn't care.
Actually, I heard she was a lot more torn up about it than you'd think!
I'll bet she doesn't have the guts to try that again.
Personally, I think she was a little down in the mouth...
Oooo – potential for a new home video show! "When People Use Animals to Kill Themselves!" Can you just imagine? Inner city thugs taunting rotweilers, "alternative lifestyle" guys sticking killer gerbils in body orifices, international tourists picking up baby grizzlies in Alaska, etc. etc.
Can we say drama queen???? Not only is it bad enough that she left a suicide note blamming her husband but to off herself in a public place in such a manner. IMHO, people like this are better off dead. My ex threatens to kill himself all the time because I'm such a witch and left him. I don't think he ever will but if he does I'm sure the suicide note will blame me....
