Saab Turbo Question

My son bought a 2004 Saab Turbo....don't ask me why.....said he deserves it, anyway, I told him he had to put the highest priced gas in it, he told me no he didn't and hasn't been. Am I wrong????

The owners manual will give you the recommended grade of octane to use, and it might be listed inside the gas filler door.
It depends on the natural compression ratio of the engine and how much it's boosted by the turbo.

My 1.8T VW required 93 octane, but the electronics would retard the timing to prevent detonation with lower octane gas.

... and that's nothing to worry about since cars NEVER have electrical problems
