At approximately 11:25 a.m., on Tuesday, Nov. 3, the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department and ambulances along with Rescue Squads from Dunkirk and Huntingtown responded to an accident at Route 260 in the 100 block near the Mt. Harmony Road exit in Owings.

The accident was reported as head-on collision with an entrapped victim. Emergency units arrived on the scene and extracted one of two seriously injured crash victims. Maryland State Police and U.S. Park Police helicopters were called to transport the two patients.

The Park Police flew one patient to Prince Georges Hospital. The other patient, flown by MSP had an unknown destination. No information is available on the condition of either crash victim at this time.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
