News about Bryans Road crash (MD 210) on 7/2/2012?

There was a bad crash southbound on Indian Head Highway on Monday afternoon/evening, just entering Bryans Road. Anybody know anything?

The car was destroyed. Looked very bad. Friend of mine knows the girl and apparently she passed away today. =[ Wish I knew the cause. Been searching the internet and can't find anything about it.

That's not the first time someone has hit and destroyed that sign. It was a while ago but if I'm not mistaken, someone died in that accident too.

She had to of been moving pretty darn fast I can tell you that. We drove by right after it happened. No rescue crews had arrived but a police officer was on the scene. I was sure the driver was DOA based on the damage to the vehicle from my glance when stopped in traffic briefly. I make it a point to not rubberneck as it is disrespectful and another form of distracted driving. My husband did see more as he was not driving and it was really bad. A lesson she will never be able to have lived to have learned or pass on unfortunately.

This along with that poor 7 year old girl and her mother just a short piece down the same road just a week or so prior. So sad.

Please everyone - slow down on these rural roads. Use your turn signals. don't text and drive. Even fiddling with your radio is distracting! Nothing is worth your life when you are driving your car. No job, message, nothing.

If that is true, they should probably replace it with a simple metal sign on frangible posts.

Dont think those welcome monuments do anything good for the respective counties.

As stretches of rural highway go around here, this one should be one of the safest. Has a service road, no driveways backing into the road, good sight-lines, reasonable speed limit. I hope MSP investigates this accident throughly, including a subpoena of the girls phone and SMS records.

I don't know but that particular one may have something to do with tourism, especially since they are bulking up the airport down there to accommodate regional air traffic coming into DC. I believe there is a fancy brick one on this side of the Nice (301) bridge as well. Most of the rural highways in the county have only the tiny green sign indicating that you're crossing into Chuck County.
