Puerto Rico Statehood
I'm all for Puerto Rico getting statehood. But, I really think we need to add another 2 states as well. 53 is a prime number. Get it? One nation, under God...indivisible.

Why not just get rid of 3 then? Let's see, which states would I consider "a$$holes"? California, for sure. New Jersey, second. Crap, now I've got to choose between Massachusetts and Illinois for number 3! How about getting rid of both of them and then we split Alaska in two to get back to 47?

I don't think it can do so, practically - it has such an advantage economically by NOT being one.
