A tint place will put whatever the customer wants on it. Some people don't care they will pay to have it put on, pay to have it removed, and pay to put it on again.

But the business owner isn't going to agree to put something on the car that's illegal, then agree to remove it at no cost to the customer when they get caught. That story just smacks of

Yep exactly.

It's not illegal for everyone anyway. You can get a doctor's note that permits you to go darker than the legal limit. With the military base here some people still have their vehicles tagged in other states so they can get away with the darker tint too I believe.

The only local place I know that does Huper Optik's is TOO INTENSE WINDOWS® Huper Optik and LLumar Window Films - he mainly does commercial stuff during the day, but in the evenings and weekends (appointment only) he does vehicles. I do not know about his work but my buddy (with the SL600) was going to go with him, but got into a rush and could not get in fast enough for him so he went somewhere up near Columbia MD.
