But at the same time, to find a version of the Mustang that will out preform the Camaro SS (MSRP starting at $31k), you have to purchase a GT 500 with a sticker price of over $50k. Give it time, this is a quality vehicle and one I am proud to own, and many others will be too.
I still think it's ugly. I don't like the lines on it...or lack of lines.

Another note, the Ford Mustang GT 500 is a 5.4 liter V8 with 540 HP. The Camaro is a 6.2 liter with 400-426 HP. You can see why the Mustang that you compare to the Camero SS is more expensive. It is more powerful and more exclusive...not a cookie cutter model.

Right now though, the Camaro SS is the best bang for the buck going on the market, and you really can't argue that. There is no Mustang in the SS's price range that will even come close to competing with it.

Now, once Chevrolet rolls out a Z-28 model of the Camaro, then perhaps that will be a better price vs. price/hp vs. hp comparison to the GT 500.

And say what you wanna say about either car, but the mere fact that people are even having this discussion should put a smile on the face of anyone who is a fan of American automobiles.

How can you say that the Camaro is the best bang for your buck? The stock Mustang GT is $27.995.00 for a 4.6 L, 315 hp and 13.610 in the 1/4 mile. The stock Camaro SS is $33,430 for 6.2L, 400 hp and a 13.60 in the 1/4 mile. You tell me what the best is for your money. I am glad that you like your new Camaro...I will see you at the track with my stock Mustang GT...I am not your typical girl...I have been around racing a long time. SMOKIN!!!

Yeah, but you can only go 60-70 on the roads, so what does it matter? Unless you take it to the track. I'm not into paying $40,000 for something to drive at Budd's Creek.

I like a classy car thats sounds good and runs well...I'm not about speed.

And I'm not you're typical guy, I've won 2 track championships at MIR, and 1 IHRA World Championship, whats your point?

The stock Camaro LT1 is $23,495 and is a 3.6L V6 314 HP that runs 13.9 @ 103 mph in 1/4. Read a couple of reviews of the Mustang GT vs. the SS and you tell me which one the critics are picking as the better car.

I said at the TRACK, I don't race on the street. And besides a Camaro SS can't even come close to the hmmmm of the Mustang GT.

By the way, why did your Camaro cost $40,000 for the SS? Shoot, I could add $8,000.00 to that and get a real race car.... a Roush Mustang or Saleen with 625 hp. Sorry to burst your bubble. Besides Chevrolet is now Government Motors.

Then clearly you shouldn't be paying attention or offering opinions on a thread about muscle cars, now should you? I am happy that you like your classy car, my mother loves her Cadillac CTS. If you'd like to offer your opinion on that which you enjoy, maybe you should start a thread about your car.

You've got 'em. And I don't think cattitude was trying to say that she bought a SS for 40k, whatever she drives cost that much, she's clearly stated she doesn't like the Camaro.
