Yeah, but you should take the shift pattern off, just to be extra sure.

Then it won't pass inspection.

Ok, this one eludes me.... is it because you think very few can drive a stick?

Maybe true... I've always thought everyone should learn how to drive a stick even if they don't use one, so this kinda went whoosh past me.

Lesson 1 in the basic rider cours is Find the friction zone on the bike's clutch because so few people show up that actually have experience driving with a manual transmission.

DR, sure will, had my 87 Shelby GLHS fail for that. Since Shelby fitted a nice leather shift knob instead of the standard Dodge plastic eight ball, there was a plaque, long gone by the time I got the car.

GW, I think he's saying hammer it and GTFOOD. This actually happened to a buddy of mine, mid eighties Detroit. Guy just stepped up, told him "Check it in", since sounding like a gun toting valet was the fashion then:) Buddy took off, guy actually shot at him, hit the trunk lid.

I wasn't really thinking the car jacker wanted to go get it inspected. Maybe though.
