No doubt!. A buddy of mine heads up a sand drag racing team called Tiger Racing and they campaign a purely evil 401-based engine in their CJ. The aluminum heads are practically hand made. The engine puts out over 1000 HP when the laffing gas is on. I'll see if I can find a link.

I used to have that motor in my Wagoneer, with a 4bbl. Got a whopping 8mpg on the hogway.

My 1986 GW gets about 12

the best anyone has ever posted in IFSJA.org is maybe 18

I am thinking something other than 2.71 / 3.21 gears in the rear, Fuel Injection and a 4 - 6 speed trans you should be able to do better than that

I like my GW, but I really want a 2dr Cheif

What do you mean by flex hone? Are you talking about a true bore hone like a Sunnen?...or a ball hone/glaze breaker type..

ball glaze break type

why do you have a True Hone Machine ?

I just want to clean up the bores of a 360 block

I do not need / want to bore the block out .....

BI Mattingly does all my boring and honing. Being a race builder, he uses a torque plate plus he's very fussy about being dead on...his bores are finsihed to within .00025 throughout. (!!) All I have here at the shop are ball hones and glazebreakers.

Ball hones are specified by bore size...you use a 4" ball hone in a 4" bore. You would be OK with a 4 1/8" hone with that much overbore.

Make sure you cut the cylinder ridge before you hone the bores.

yeah

Stock 360 bore is 4.08, the 4 inch Ball Flex does not touch the sides ...

I should have paid better attention when ordering ....

does BI Mattingly specialize in just Fords, does he have a good all around knowledge ....

I keeps seeing this ....
