Thumbs up Jeff Gordon: "Typical Kyle Busch" in Junyer wreck

Four-time Sprint Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon chimed in Friday with his opinion on the wreck heard round the NASCAR world last week during the Dan Lowry 400 at Richmond International Raceway.

Gordon's teammate, Dale Earnhardt Jr., ended up spinning in a late race battle for the lead with Kyle Busch. Earnhardt, currently on a 72-race winless streak, ended up 15th. Busch ended up finishing second to Clint Bowyer.

Busch and Gordon had been teammates until last season when the hiring of Earnhardt at Hendrick Motorsports necessitated the release of Busch from the organization. Busch now drives for Joe Gibbs Racing.

"I thought it was typical Kyle Busch," Gordon said of the contact between Busch and Earnhardt at Richmond. "He was racing too hard and I think he just drove in too deep. Turn 3, when you're on the inside, you've got to be the conservative one. You can't be the aggressor. And the guy on the outside, you know he's going to hold you. And he's going to pinch you. If you don't want to wreck, you're going to have to check up a little early and try to get a run on him at the bottom of the corner and then drive down into Turn 1 and get him. Or, beat him off Turn 2. You can't try to outrun a guy into Turn 3, not when you're on the inside like that."

It wouldn't surprise Gordon if things are a little more personal for Busch when he sees Earnhardt on the track.

"I could sense that Kyle would have some hard feelings toward Hendrick and I think that he feels like he kind of got the raw end of the deal and he might be right, but I don't think that should transfer onto the race track," Gordon said. "But you never know with Kyle. I don't know. I think those are a couple of downsides. I think he's a tremendous race car driver and that's proven itself. But sometimes he lets himself get the best of him. And I'm not saying that happened in that situation. But if a rivalry continues or builds into something, that's the only thing that I would go back to."

Sounds like Little Busch has everyone pissed at him.

Same here.

I'm getting tired of the little prick running his mouth after every race. Everything is everyone else's fault. But, if it's off his front bumper, it's good hard clean racing.

Mikey and NannyPam, I think your boy needs to set his new teammate straight.

It was too good to be true. Many individuals stated that Kyle Busch has greatly matured since moving over to Joe Gibbs Racing, but on Saturday night, he proved that he is still the young, immature, and, worst of all, cocky driver that he has been throughout his entire career. Busch was knocked out of the Diamond Hill Plywood 200 when he got into the back right side of the lapped car of Brad Keslowski.

Busch then went on to criticize Keslowski, in a post race interview, for racing him hard, despite being one lap down and causing the wreck. Busch stated that the next time he had the chance, he was going to wreck Keslowski as payback. This does not sound like talk from a championship contender, rather it sounds more like a punk kid.

Oooooh SNAP!

I just watched the c---sucker at Darlington put the bumper to Biffle. Now he is crying over his brakes. These guys need to get together and take Busch to school.

Mostly used the wall for a break yesterday. Cant knock him for his ability though, the kid can drive.

I remember a flat track motorcycle racer once who got a hot streak, he couldnt lose. He was in waaay over his head, You could tell by the way he was riding that he was in for a bad day. Kid got killed. Hope it doesnt happen to Kyle, but IMO he is driving beyond his abilities and it's going to catch up with him.

That was probably one of the best saves I have seen on the track.
