I have not driven for over 2 years I live in an area with good public transportation system.

I wonder if your employer would be willing to accept the liability of having a drunk working there. All it takes is one accident, and OSHA would find out about your record. Your employer would face huge lawsuits. Nope, not a good thing for them to keep you there.
