This was forwarded to me from my best friend, just thought I'd throw it out there. She's pretty ticked off about the situation, so she's been forwarding to everyone she knows.
Honestly, I have no clue if you can offer any advice or help, but I figured
it can't hurt to ask. In MD a dog was surrended by the owner b/c they were
moving. My mother knows these people and was shocked to learn that they
dropped him off at a kill shelter, b/c the no-kill shelter had a higher
surrender fee. The dog is a 9 year old chow mix that had been kept mostly
outside, from everything I know he's very friendly. He was never altered and
apparently only received his shots as a puppy. He's a pretty smokey grey
color. I am just sick about this, as I can't believe someone I know would
just abandon their pet, esp since I help a cat rescue.
I live in MA so I can't just go an adopt him. If you can help in anyway
please let me know. He is currently at the Tri-County Shelter in Southern
MD, 301-932-1713, reference number 34406.
