WASHINGTON (AP) - Louisiana Sen. David Vitter, whose telephone number was disclosed by the so-called "D.C. Madam" accused of running a prostitution ring, says he is sorry for a "serious sin" and that he has already made peace with his wife.

"This was a very serious sin in my past for which I am, of course, completely responsible," Vitter said Monday in a printed statement. "Several years ago, I asked for and received forgiveness from God and my wife in confession and marriage counseling. Out of respect for my family, I will keep my discussion of the matter there _ with God and them. But I certainly offer my deep and sincere apologies to all I have disappointed and let down in any way."

You're still an idiot. The difference between the Elephant's and the Asses on this one? An Elephant got caught.

BTW, IMO, prostitution should be legal. The only difference between that and someone using someone else for money, is that with prostitution, it's a set amount.

That's right, judge ALL Republicans by a few bad apples. Forestal, are you American? Why not just say that this guy messed up and got caught. Why must you condemn the entire right wing party for his mistake? I really think that you are an enemy agent trying to cause division here. You've never had the American way in any of your posts? Is your real name Osama, Obama, Hillary or Kennedy? Do you support the aclu? Just curious.

In 2000, Vitter was included in a Newhouse News Service story about the strain of congressional careers on families.

His wife, Wendy, was asked by the Newhouse News reporter: If her husband was as unfaithful as former President Bill Clinton, would she be as forgiving as Hillary Clinton?

“I’m a lot more like Lorena Bobbitt than Hillary,” Wendy Vitter told Newhouse News. “If he does something like that, I’m walking away with one thing, and it’s not alimony, trust me.”

No the difference is Democrats don't tell you that they are pure like virgin snow, don't pretend to tell you how to behave, or pretend that they are God's gift to the faithful.

That's the Republicans who do that.

Sure, but Democrats don't pretend that they are the Holy party of virtue.

The Republicans have tried to make it a generally accepted fact that they are the cure for public and private behavior.

But all they are, are a bunch of pedophile protecting, prostitutin' liars.
