Ex-Administrator Alleges Closed Meeting Illegal
Alfred A. Lacer, the deposed St. Mary's County administrator, has not gone silently into the night.
Lacer, fired last month by the Board of County Commissioners more than a year before his contract was to expire, has filed a $1.6 million lawsuit against his former bosses.
The suit, filed Wednesday in St. Mary's Circuit Court, alleges, among other things, that the commissioners violated the county's open meetings law by excluding him from an executive session at which his fate was decided and not giving him the opportunity to have the meeting held in public.
