good areas to view Pax NAS Air Show this weekend?

I was wondering if the beaches in Chesapeake Ranch Estates... near the Calvert Cliffs... is a good area to view the air show?

I've never seen it so I don't really know where they fly?

Any other good publically accessible areas not on base?

I usually park at the highest point on the Thomas Johnson Bridge!

Lots of other folks stop too.

Probably the best place without going onto base or out on a boat would be Solomon's Island on the Patuxent River Side towards the south.

Correct me if I'm wrong people, but CRE sounds like its a bit too far up from the Base to really get a good view, wouldn't ya say? Especially the northern end/Calvert Cliffs.

Why don't you just go to the show? The planes are flying for the spectators right on the runway. If not I wouldn't go much further past Solomans to get a real look. Try the deck at Catamarans, or Solomans Pier sounds like it'd be a lot of fun.

Viewed the AirShow from alot of different places over the last 20 years. A boat off the beach is great. I live in Drum Pt. and the beach is right across from the base, but still didn't get a great view. The best is either a boat, or right on the taxiway, on the base.

The base is open to the public for the show, why not just go on base?
