So I just started my new hoby of riding a road bike. Picked up a Specialized Sequoia and darn happy with it. Been riding the loop around PAX and have 3 rides under my belt so far. Making the loop in 40-45 minutes. Riding today about 4ish.

Any pointers for improving my skills from any of you riders?

Since I haven't seen your skills I can't comment. However, there's a whole buncha really great riders who are members of Pax Velo who'd be qualified to give lotsa great pointers. http://www.paxvelo.com/

pedal circularly, not just pressing down.....
get yourself some clipless pedals and shoes, they help with the above.
be predictable, use hand signals, stay out of the road unless shoulder is unsafe
