is calvert county suburban

We're all mad here.
I've always considered Calvert rural. We're basically a bedroom community to D.C, but we're not really in the suburbs like Temple Hills, College Park, Silver Spring, etc. Waldorf is more confusing to classify. I think it's suburban?

Don't think this is a bad thing, though. I like being able to drive 15 miles in 15 minutes, not an hour.

I would suggest Calvert has become largely exurban; not (yet) sufficiently developed to be considered suburban, while rapidly shedding its agricultural economy and rural culture. Same applies to most of SoMD.
