Had to pay it this summer to put a Mobile Home on property. Almost $5000.00

I had to pay it too. Been a county resident since 77. Husband was born and raised here. Bought the land from his sister. Deed states that we would be exempt from impact fees. Because transferred from immediate family member. St Marys county does not consider a sister an immediate family member. Go figure. I tried to appeal it but it was shot down.

That is so crazy! I was told that if we sell that property with the mobile home and people want to build a house there they have to pay impact fee again. But if we give it to a child ( son/daughter ) they can build a house and not have to pay.
