It has been my experience that Govt KTRs may have the day off but you must use leave.

I was a KTR but now I am Govt.

I am a contractor also and I can't expect to have to use leave if I am not allowed to g to work because the building is closed down. I am waiting on an email about it.

Contractors will have to take leave. The executive ordered days off are not written in your contract. I work at a military command and the Gov't and militray people get off with special liberty for military and an unscheduled holiday or admin leave for civilians. ALL others... i.e. contractors, are not expected to work; however, must take leave to get the day off.

Contractor also, but my company gives everyone the option of working a compressed work schedule that pay period so you dont have to use leave. Maybe you can suggest that.......

Im not fortunate enough to get CWS weeks. ANd the 24th we have an all day shift day. Last time we did that was the day after thanksgiving, the hangars where like a ghost town.

It's amazing that the tax payers have to foot the bill for an additional day off for feds yet everyone else has to burn leave.

Back when I was contracting these situations really pissed me off. I used to stay home and bill eight hours anyway.
