Runaway Missing Since Late May

Just before Memorial Day, Dominicque Hodges called her mother and said she couldn't wait to be home in Waldorf for the long weekend.

To Phyllis Hodges, those were welcome words from her 15-year-old daughter, who had run away from home so often that a Charles County judge sent her away in April for a year-long stay at Maple Shade Youth and Family Services center, 90 miles away in Dorchester County on the Eastern Shore.

"I thought everything was going to be okay," Phyllis Hodges said.

A day later, she got another call. Her daughter had been suspended at school, and her holiday privileges had been revoked.

On May 26, Memorial Day, another call: Dominicque and two other teenage girls had walked out of Maple Shade and disappeared.

I hope her mother finds her. That has to be like a hole in the heart for a mother.

What do you do with a 15 year old chronic runaway? I would think at some point you'd just call it a day and leave her to the streets. But I've never been there so I wouldn't know.

she is going to end up on the streets, be one of those girls on the porn sites, that you wonder where they came from and how can they do that? of course she will wish she was back with her mom in that nice home that isn't so bad now. some people have to learn the hard way, it is a shame when it is kids.
