In the words of William Sokolin, “What is the definition of a good wine? It should start and end with a smile.” This definition stands true not only for good wine, but for great wine festivals such as Riverside WineFest at Sotterley.

Once again, historic Sotterley Plantation will “Celebrate the Best of Maryland in a Breathtaking Setting”at Riverside WineFest at Sotterley 2008. Guests will enjoy multiple wine tastings (no tasting tickets required), wine making and wine tasting demonstrations, So. Maryland, So Good demos and exhibits, live music, fine artisan vendors with beautiful hand-crafted items, great food featuring Southern Maryland favorites (such as pit-roasted meats, fried oysters, crab cakes, stuffed ham, freshly made ice cream, wraps and more), children’s activities including games and face painting, tours and more! 16 wineries will be joining the festival this year, and if you haven’t sampled Maryland wines lately, then come and taste what’s new while you enjoy a view second to none!

Tickets may be purchased in advance for a discounted price of $17 through September 26th, and at the gate tickets will be $20. Designated Driver and Ages 6-20 are $5, and under age 6 are free.

After that you should come out to the Blessing of the Fleet which is also having a wine tasting from local wineries.:yay: Also we will be serving local foods and a demonstration on how to stuff a ham, followed by an auction for the ham. Fireworks and live music by "Six Gun South" Saurday evening. See you at the beer truck.:buddies::howdy: Parade on Sunday and the Mass will be celebrated by the Apostolic Nuncio to the United States on St. Clement's Island the site of the first Catholic Mass celebrated in the English colonies.
