WAYMART, Pa. - A woman being viciously attacked by a large dog said she was saved from further harm when her 13-year-old daughter distracted the canine by screaming "You want a piece of me?" and kicking it repeatedly in the head.

Jane Howell said she and her daughter, Elizabeth Connolly, were walking down Oswego Turnpike near Waymart on Saturday evening when they came across the dog, believed to be a mix of Labrador and Shepherd, in its house but unchained.

Jane Howell said she went over to try to chain up the dog, holding it by the collar and offering it a dog biscuit. But she said the dog leaped at her, knocking her down and biting her up and down both arms. Connolly rushed to her mother's aid, kicking the dog in the head and yelling at it; the dog then bit Elizabeth on her right arm.

Both went to get help and emergency officials responded. Jane Howell needed more than a dozen stitches on her arms, and her daughter, who turned 14 Monday, required 26.

Jane Howell said the dog should have been familiar with her because she knew its owners, who accompanied her to the hospital. She commended her daughter's heroism and said she didn't hold a grudge against the dog's owners.

"We have animals too," she said. "It was just an accident."

Ok, hurrah for the daughter for helping her mom, but mom is a dumbazz for grabbing a strange dog by the collar and trying to tie it up. The dog was IN ITS HOUSE. What an idiot! :boo:
