In need of Telephone Poles

I need a dozen or more to frame up a hay barn.

I have tried SMECO with no luck.

Poles are nice when free but man what a PAI to build off of. So much nicer in the long run to have square poles that are cut at a mill. Will cost more now but will be worth it in the building end

You are exactly right. But this barn we are not gonna build...the amish are going to and he doesnt care if it is poles or 6x6. This barn will have 16' clearance so 6x6s are not an option.

poles are hard to come by and even with connections. You need to know someone that is on the crew that is replacing them and even then it is hard.

Back in the day you could get them easy, best chance now is find someone with some laying around

We have a marina and just put in a lot of new dock. They don't allow you to use telephone poles anymore, we had to buy pilings. The twenty foot ones were about $115.00 and the thirty foot ones were about $130.00. They are ten inches around on one end and eight inches on the other end.The only problem is when the load comes, some of them are really crooked. They will take them back and replace them but that is time you may not have if you have builders waiting. We got ours from a company called Wood Preservers out of Virginia.
