Doctors who do not want to practice medicine under Obama's nationalized health care reform may find a haven in Arizona and make it one state with plenty of available medical care.

Next year, Arizona voters will decided whether its residents will be subject to the mandates in Obama and the Democrats health care reform.

The Arizona Legislature has introduced an HC2014, an initiative if passed, would amend the state constitution so that no resident would be required to participate in any public health care option. The initiative will be on the ballot in November 2010.

Arizona State Rep. Nancy Barto, a Republican, said

HCR2014 is proactive and will protect patients’ fundamental rights.... statement. We are a front-line battle state to stop the momentum of this powerful government takeover of your health care decisions. Health care by lobbyists thwarts your rights and can be stopped here.

According to Christie Herrera, director of the Health and Human Services Taskforce:

“The eyes of the nation will be on Arizona next year to see what happens....If this succeeds in Arizona, other states will take notice and push harder.

Arizona could be a bellweather in the fight for states rights and provide an example for other states, especially those who are already fighting for the rights of gun owners in defying Obama through the courts.

Arizona’s Health Care Freedom Act establishes the right of state residents to spend their own money to seek and receive health care and, secondly, the right to choose not to participate in any health care system of any type.

X Amendment FTW. All States need to get hot on this right now. Imagine the damage control from the Obama WH, heh.

In My Opinion
as bad as previous administrations have been, I dont recall ever reading about so many states considering passing laws that would exempt their residents from being under federal rule.

you think obama is smart enough to realize that this is a good indication that people think he is full of crap and have no respect for him at all?

personally, if given a choice of protecting obama, or protecting a pile of dog doo on the street, I think I would choose to stand guard over the poo. It has more value.

I heard Newt this afternoon with a great idea. Insert a clause into the bill saying that if Congress passes a Government option, they must give up their sweet coverage and go with the same option they are forcing on us.

I say make that include all government employees, especially the guy at the top of the executive branch and all of his czars.

Just heard an interview on Fox with Marie Cordona, frm head of the DNC I guess. She gave the same old party line that health care system needs reform, etc. No mention of the cost or where the money will come from. The Rep / conservative gave it to her with both barrels. "We can't make medicare and medicade work and you want it for all of us?" "Go to Canada and see how well it's working for them." This woman was the typical Obamite. Close your eyes and wish for it and it will happen just the way you want it too.

Does that include military personnel?
If one wants to see the best possible state government "health care" can be in. Take a look at the military health care system. A huge portion of the DOD budget is spent on health care for military (active/reserve/retired/etc)... obviously.

My example from experience (this is common):
I have flu like symptoms, I go to sick call in the morning. Oh no I missed sick call hours by 10 minutes. I either have to make an appt or come back tomorrow morning. I come back the next morning (0600-0830 are the hours). Stand in line for 30 minutes. Fill out some questionare. Then they give me sudafed and tylenol (which I already have) and tell me to come back in a few days if it doesnt get better so they can give me antibiotics. Ok so the sudafed and tylenol doesnt work after a few days so I call to make an appt. The next available appt is in 2 weeks.

So I go into sick call the next morning and say that the sudafed isnt working and I need antibitotics. I'm told I have to see the doc for that and the receptionist tells me to make an appt or I can wait to see if a doc has a minute. They ask for my last 4 SSN so they can pull my medical record. Oops cant find my medical record they will continue to look for it. Found my medical record in a stack somewhere 40 minutes later. So I wait around in the waiting room for three hours and the receptionist tells me the doc will see me. I go to the room and hop up on the paper covered table. Some Navy E3 comes in and takes my bloodpressure 10 minutes later. Then I wait around another 20 minutes for the doc to show up. Doc does his thing, takes about 3 minutes. Writes down a bunch of stuff and the antibiotics presription. I go back to teh front desk with my record and hand it to the receptionist. Wait around some more. Receptionist gives me prescription info to take to pharmacy. I leave hosptial and drive to pharmacy (since the Navy decided to put the pharmacy in a completley different building on base). Get to the pharmacy luckily before they all leave for lunch. I wait another 10 minutes (lucky) and finally get my antibiotics.

Of course if the antibiotics dont work then I end up getting sent to Bethesda under TAD orders because they can't do anything for my respriatory infection.

Navy efficiency at its finest.

You recieved full pay and used none of your leave during this experience.
That won't happen in the civilian version

Good for AZ and any other state with the gumption to follow suit.

Problem is when the public option runs all remaining private covergage into bankruptcy after a few years or the socialists get real bold and just ban private providers all together, where will they go?......where will anyone go?
