Somali Women Whipped for Wearing Bras - International News | News of the World | Middle East News | Europe News - FOXNews.com

I know it's a dumb story and sounds like the Onion, but it's about a dumb religion and it makes about as much sense as the Onion.

*****After the public whippings, the women are forced to remove their bras and shake their breasts, the Times reported.****

I dont think this will ever become popular in the US, but one never knows.

Reuter's has it too.

And yet, this is the type of society that the left wishes us to become.

it just baffles me.

:roflmao: Do you really believe that?
not really. At least not to that extent.
but they are certainly wishing for things without thinking about the end consequences.
Where do you think it will stop?
after they get socialist health care?
or after they get any conservative view taken off the air?

will they be happy with ending the takeover at the health care or will they decide that more government control over their lives is required.
are taxes high enough now? or do we need to redistribute some more.
Do we need the government to tell us what to eat? what to put in our bodies? why not tell us what to wear, skirt too short? pay a fine or go to jail, too fat? pay a fine.
should we limit the miles we are allowed to drive each year? maybe we should just drive only what the government says we can drive.

It may not be what they are actually looking for, but piece by piece it is certainly heading in that direction. Most likely wont see the day that women are beaten in public for wearing a bra, but I can certainly see a day that fines are applied for not dressing in accordance with the U.S dress code.

I ask again, what makes you think leftists want Sharia law in the US?

Call it what you like, but when the government has total control over every function of your life, it can quickly turn into a similar type of society.

This is what they are aiming toward, and I don't even think they are smart enough to realize it.
Without the threat of failure, there can be no drive to succeed.

nope, just been around long enough to see how a little control leads to a little more control that leads to a little more etc....

FDR started this country on a downward slope that will destroy us in the end.
Who needs a constitution?

That I agree with. Socialists have long been combating the US from the inside, corrupting kids, using lawyers to pass legislation when democracy and the constitution stood in the way.

However, this is usable, politically, but, as long as we support people like Bush and McCain it'll never get used. In fact, Bush threw away the religious component of the anti ISLAMIC nut job wars by specifically claiming it is not what it clearly is; religious.

"So, you dope heads, you want Pat Robertson calling you names or Osama bin Laden cutting your stoned heads off?"

Bush, if you are willing to face up to it, chose making the US more of the totalitarian state we both fear instead of man-ing up and making it clear.

This is a RELIGIOUS war.

This is a RELIGIOUS war.
Yes it is.
However, it is not a religious war in the way one might picture it from the past.
this is not the Christians against the Muslims, or the Jews against the Muslims.
This is a religious war on the part of the Muslims, they are driven by their religious leaders, the rest of the world is not (ok, maybe the Jews)
The Muslims attack the U.S because we dont comply with their Koran. We retaliate their aggression in an attempt at mainting a certain lifestyle.

So to the muslims, this is a holy war, to us it is not.

Jesus H.

We can call a mugging an 'urban consciousness experience' and it doesn't change what it is. We are in a Holy War against Islam and that is ALL there is to it. We will NOT win unless and until we start dealing with it from that standpoint.

And it is Christianity against Islam and the agnostics, such as me, need to be clear whose side they are on.

I'm with the Jesus people.

Sorry, but you can't say things like this:
And yet, this is the type of society that the left wishes us to become.

it just baffles me.

and say it's not fear mongering.

bcp "I agree"

I too have been around long enough to see the slow but sure eroding of personal rights and replacing with for "the overall good" The bill of rights has been severely eroded . The dependency on others to provide for your total needs comes with a very heavy price. I believe in the words to John Lennon's "Imagine". Remember at one time the Muslim world did not have the same restrictions as they do today . It is like always, one group of people trying to take control over another and it goes on and on and on.

Good Point

FDR did a lot of stupid things like:
*term limits for President
*social security
*Handled World War 2 which, as you'll agree, was really a dumb move. Have you mentioned that to the Greatest generation that went and wasted their time and lives in that war? Also, can you believe the US spent money to build a stupid memorial in DC for FDR's mistake?
*Set up the New Deal which got us out of the Depression---can you imagine the government getting into the business of assisting people? That had to be the biggest crock the guy ever pulled off.....and we're still suffering.

Yep, you nailed it. I hope in your spare time you pick up a history book. ..not that it will change your opinion. Facts don't matter when you have a point of view.

I would hope you pick up a history book and learn about FDR, you might find that history paints him with a prettier brush than reality does.
To him the constitution was only an inconvenience, look and see how he dealt with it.

Dude, you do know that unemployment and the economy got worse under FDR and didn't improve until he lead us to war, right? It's in the history books.

As for Social Security, the great national ponzi scheme, and the ascent of the entitlement mindset of America all the way up to today's "Whose gonna pay for my health care?" debate, well, if you like bankrupt policy, good for you.

As for Japan, they attacked us. As for Europe, our 300,000 dead and millions maimed got us what?
