moving company?

does anyone have any recommendations/ advice for a moving company for a local move (LP to hollywood?) more than likely we'll be doing all the packing and loading ourselves to keep the cost down.

also any thoughts on POD's?

If you're going to do all the packing and loading, why do you need a moving company?....I think you need to either have some friends with pick-ups come help you and/or rent a Ryder truck

That was my thought, but I don't quite have terbear in agreement with me yet.

I am interested in the POD idea, though. If it's cheap enough to be worth it, it could really simplify the moving process. Pack the container one box, one piece of furniture at a time. Then have it moved to the new house when it's ready.
