Late Blight Coming to YOUR Tomatoes

IYAMYAS!!!!!
This is necessary info for anyone who grows their own tomatoes! Please read and heed! This info came to me via Email from the Calvert Co. Cooperative Extension Office.

"Some of you may have heard that late blight was found by a local Ag Agent on some tomato transplants in a St. Mary’s Co. greenhouse on May 7. While there is no cause for alarm based on a single incident, we all need to be vigilant in monitoring plants throughout the 2010 growing season.

We have a late blight page for backyard and community gardeners on the Grow It Eat It web site- http://growit.umd.edu/- that has photos, a fact sheet, Q&A, and a video. We added a 2010 update and are asking all gardeners to actively look for the disease and to call or e-mail HGIC with questions or to report suspicious symptoms. The GIEI and HGIC web sites will be updated as needed to give the latest late blight information."
