Maryland Department of Transportation, State Highway Administration, will conduct public hearings.

The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA), in conjunction with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), is conducting a project planning study of MD 4 to evaluate potential improvements to the capacity, safety, and traffic operations along the corridor. The project limits extend from the intersection of MD 2/4 and Patuxent Point Parkway in Calvert County to the MD 4/MD 235 intersection in St. Mary’s County, including the Thomas Johnson Bridge over the Patuxent River.

The purpose of the public hearings is to formally present the results of the detailed engineering and environmental studies that have been conducted for the project. The public hearings will provide an opportunity for interested individuals to offer verbal or written comments on the project information presented in the Environmental Assessment for the project record before a preferred alternative is selected.

Maps and other exhibits depicting the studied alternatives wi3ll be on display for public viewing beginning at 5:00 pm. Project representatives will be available to answer questions.

A formal presentation lasting approximately 30 minutes will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by public testimony about the project. The time limit for public testimony may be limited to three minutes per person. Testimony can also be provided privately to a court reporter or in writing.

Do you think this is a good case for eminent domain to be used? Something's got to give for a wider or second span.

BTW- wasn't it fairly recent that a feasability study was done? Too bad all that stimulus money for those public work projects went to Soros & co.

Wonder if the plan they come up with this time will have the same stupid "bike/pedestrian pathway" on only one span, causing anyone knowing how to ride a bike properly to have to cross 6 lanes of traffic to get to the idiotic, legally-mandated-to-use thing when they're proceeding up the right hand lane on the opposite span?

You might consider going to a meeting and asking.

Great - just what we need - another study! Go ahead and build the 2nd span so we can sit in traffic twice as long....
