Obama's "Economics"

As the late Adrian Rogers said, "you cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had once failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan". All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A...

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D! No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

Could not be any simpler than that. (Please pass this on)

Remember, there is a test coming up. The mid-term election in 2010!

Good lord. How many time do we have to see this. It's one of the oldest stories in the book. I see it's been modified some since Obama is around now.

Except as of yet, Obama has not altered the the Bush Tax rates. And if he does, it will likely only hit the top tax bracket and raise the rate from 35 to 39.4% so the analogy holds better for socialist state, then for what is happening here.

Had this discussion on another board because ONE poster took offense at the discussion of the tax cuts expiring as "political".
Start with the premise that the American personality is at heart free market capitalists. We didn't want to pay taxes to the Brits and we have fought our own federal government over taxes almost from day one (see whiskey rebellion).

The majority of our political leaders have hovered around the center of the political spectrum. All have been capitialists at heart, the degree of government involvement was always the debate.

Obama and his two congressonal allies are at heart socialists. They believe that it is the federal governments duty to redistribute wealth and to promote social justice. The rule of law does not apply.
But even socialists are alarmed to the extent Obama will go. Our friends in Europe, many are socialists, are concerned with his takeover of private industry. They see nothing wrong with higher taxes and government provided healthcare and other social programs. But they are concerned that his economic policies would include the takeover of corporations.

He will allow the tax cuts to expire and blame the ensuing economic debacle on the republicans.

What does this have to do with Socialism? the example is actually Communism (it is different)

Only because I like poking fun:

no one would fail

the average was an F
Thought no one would fail

Seriously, who would give up a passing grade just because a few free-loaders are taking advantage of the system? The slackers were going to fail anyway so they haven’t lost anything.

But isn't that the same promise with Socialism in the beginning? It can't fail, it will only help those that are failing now, and only hurt those "curve wreckers" that get all the A's that everyone can't stand, they deserve to be brought down a peg. But, in the end, everyone fails.
