Not sure if we've ever had a good experience here, and here's another chapter to add to the book.
Took the day off to bring her up here for a procedure to find out what's causing her pancreatitis episodes.. They tell us to be here by 2 for a procedure that should take place sometime around 5.
We got here at 1.. and waited.. and waited.. around 5 becomes, between 5 and 7... then becomes.. sometime around 8.. then, when he gets done seeing patients across the street he'll be here to do the procedure.. than at 9:30.. we've been trying to get a hold of Dr. XXXXX for hours.. we finally found him at home, and he had no idea he had a surgery scheduled for tonight.
It taking a hospital HOURS to contact one of their doctors has me somewhat concerned, that he didn't even know has me more concerned. Everyone here knew, the OR had been scheduled under his name (at least that's what we are being told), though I SWEAR one of the doctors slipped and said they called and the OR hadn't been scheduled.
So we wasted a day. It amazes me that a hospital can and DOES business like this. Nobody talking to anyone else, and just assuming that everyone else knows what is going on. No reminder phone calls, no verifications between doctor and staff.. nothing. And here we sit.. with a scared brokenhearted daughter..
