Vanity Fair Editor tells us to "Man Up"

Man Up, America! | The Magazine | Vanity Fair

What makes today’s fury more worrying is the fact that angry right-wing extremists tend to carry guns in disproportionate numbers to their liberal counterparts.

The general anti-Obama rage out there is palpable. But it’s no more virulent than the anti-Bush sentiment that has pervaded the country for much of the past decade—although this being America, there’s an attendant hatred for Obama that has more to do with race than anything else.

Not much for connection with the real world, eh? Just a bunch of racist gun toting rednecks throwing a fit. Was the royalty of France any more out of touch than this sort?

That column is so dripping with hypocrisy that I think I need a snorkel. What a whiney little puss. Take your dress off and YOU man up, wuss boy.

Whose fault is it the Lefties don't have guns? :killingme

They have proactively worked at altering this country, eroding everything that made America great, for decades. But as soon as Conservatives stand up and say something about it, they are the extremists - for trying to preserve what was already there.

That's like watching the Lefties back themselves to the edge of a cliff then crying because Conservatives gave them the final nudge.

In the wake of Tuesday's bloodbath, a Lefty friend said this was the result of the hillbilly virus that runs through the country. I asked him what the virus was called when Dems made such gains in '06 and '08. Didn't have a good answer to that.

For the record, his book "What We've Lost" lists for $25.00 and Amazon.com has it for $2.59! A great literary luminary. Unfortunately, he tells his entire story in the subtitle to the book, so nobody is buying.

Are you telling me that the PG people who defeated Lollar don't have guns? I should feel safe strolling through PG?

I'd like to see some real stats on right vs. left legal gun ownership, illegal gun ownership, and illegal use of guns.

The thing he so conveniently leaves out is that "right wingers" legally own their guns, and use them in compliance with the law. Not so much with the entitlement crowd.

Right. The right wing is just itching for an armed insurrection. That's why the left is so concerned about disarming them.

The right has *millions* of guns. If they were so dangerous with their "crazy" ideas, the slaughter would be unimaginable. If they wanted an armed fight, the battle would take seconds.

Bingo;

Both Bush and Obama, believing that their elections gave them mandates for seismic change, yanked the nation away from the center,

What he doesn't say but, clearly implies, is that he thinks Bush took us one way too far and Obama too far the other.

What I have been saying, for years now, is that Bush DID take us too far one way.

To the left.

I challenge the author, or anyone for that matter, to demonstrate how Bush, materially, not counting the Schiavo fiasco, took the nation too far right absent tax cuts and the judges he was forced to choose against his center/left instincts.

How was Bush too far right?

THIS is why everyone is so angry; 8 years of hoping Bush, doing one left leaning thing after another, knew what he was doing while, mostly, holding our tongues. Obama, an avowed socialist as opposed to the sneak socialist Bush is, was a socialist too far hence the bursting of the damn.
