WingNuts Spout BS About Obama's Asia Trip

The easiest job in the world must be that of Rush Limbaugh's fact-checker. One would hardly have to do a thing.

The following seems predictable, when you let mentally ill people try to be working journalists, even if they are supposed to be "opinion" journalists. As Daniel Patrick Moynihan was famously quoted, you are entitled to your own opinion, but not to your own facts.

This started when some half-ass Indian news agency reported that President Obama's Asia trip is going to cost taxpayers $200 million a day. The report also said that something like 34 U.S. warships were going overseas to protect Obama.

People in the "conservative" blogosphere jumped all over this. It was reported as fact, without investigation of sources or probability, by The Drudge Report, Michelle Malkin, and El Lardbaugh himself.

Maybe the half-ass Indian news agency was reporting the cost to the local economy since Obama is shutting down all economic activity in the area during the biggest holiday of the year

This Nymnull believes McClatchy is MainStreamMedia. So why would anyone give him any credence unless they were a unbalanced as he?

No, that would be incorrect. Its becoming quite clear that being a very low-level lefty functionary is the easiest job in the world. Cut and paste a link and a pull quote or two and your job is done. Move along.:bigwhoop:

The number came from an Indian press agency. It's entirely possible that the number was confused with the amount of rupees per day with dollars per day, which would put the cost well within normal.

But at least a couple things can't be ignored. The Obamas have rented out the entire Taj Mahal Hotel to make a political statement. Every Indian news source has commented that his footprint in terms of staff is on an order they have never seen before. And no one is disputing the expensive bomb-proof tunnel just so he can visit a museum.

And no one at the White House would ever mention the cost of security or how it was being done. That's just smart policy.

From the First Lady's visit to Spain to some of the Obama's other travels, they do seem to take the Presidency as some kind of junket loaded with perks, and they show no willingness to curtail their personal spending.

They remind me of Rodney King hitting the California law suit lottery.
