It's 15 November. YW.

They've been playing the Rudolf movie in CVS since the day after Halloween. Every time I walking in I just want to kick over the entire set up. Although, that sound system they have sounds pretty good. :killingme

It's officially Christmas time; Sirius radio has started playing their Christmas songs from now until Jan 1st. Channel 4 has the traditional ones. :yahoo:

97.1 FM starts on Friday. Sad to say, I actually tuned in yesterday morning specifically to find out when they were starting....

I miss the days when we celebrated each holiday at its time instead of way early and before the holiday before it...

And NFL football games start showing commercials for Kay Jewelers.[/QUOTE
I remember when I was a kid, Many moons ago. My father would drive us downtown to see the department store windows decorated for Christmas and the National Christmas tree. That was approximately 2nd week in December. Then you knew it was Christmas time. Now when you into the stores, they have Halloween decorations next to Thanksgiving decor next to Christmas trees. Whats next, dress a turkey with a jack o lantern head wearing a Santa Suit?:killingme

Sirius/XM music channels ARE *commercial free* for you Holiday Enjoyment, as is Sirius 110/XM 130, P.O.T.U.S., Politics of the United States for the People of the United States, especially "The Morning Briefing" a fine programme hosted by a current resident of Charles County, MD! SALUTE!

It's too soon for Christmas for me, as a kid we didn't set up our tree till the second week in December and took it down the week after New Years, probably 'cause we children would play with the tree. heck and I even knocked the thing over one year.

I don't want to think about Christmas 'till after Thanksgiving. Then I start getting the ich.

:killingme "...don't you know that Christmas is run by a big eastern syndicate..."? (Linus' words from the Charlie Brown Christmas show).

My tree usually goes up on the Friday before turkey day (this Friday). My window lights go up the Monday after.

"FM"? What is that? :lmao: WASH does play a good mix of contemporary and traditional Christmas songs, but those 50 commercials after each set were unbearable! They're part of the reason why I switched to Sirius 2 years ago.

My parents wouldn't allow our tree to go up until (at the earliest) Thanksgiving night. If not then, always the Friday after it.

:howdy: Welcome to the assylum....
You are "right on" with that first post. Last year I actually saw Christmas trees being put out in the Ocean City WalMart in August! :faint:

You are very methodical.

People at the beaches and down South can't tell a difference in the seasons so they have to guess when to do these things. Kind of sad, really.

Amazingly there is a method to my "madness". Last year I put my tree up on the first Friday of November but I really wasn't ready for the season and, even though it was up, I didn't light it or play any Christmas music or videos until the week before Thanksgiving (2 weeks later).

And Monday is my laundry/housework day so, since I'm usually home all day, I'll put up the window lights.

The WalMart thing really annoyed me. It was 90+ degrees and I was in WalMart looking for another fishing rod because I had broken mine the day before. I walk through the store and saw the last thing I'd expect to see in August; Christmas trees!
