TX Bill Requires Birth Cert

AUSTIN — A state representative on Tuesday filed a bill that would require any candidate for president or vice president of the United States to show his or her birth certificate to the Texas secretary of state

“This bill is necessary because we have a president whom the American people don’t know whether he was born in Kenya or some other place,” Rep. Leo Berman, R-Tyler, said in reference to President Barack Obama and of House Bill 295. “If you are running for president or vice president, you’ve got to show here in Texas that you were born in the United States and the birth certificate is your proof.”

I think it should also be posted online. Soros has put some SOS's in office around the country. Easy to circumvent this law if you have commies in the SOS office.

I know there will be a lot of people complaining about this, but I don't see it as a huge requirement upon the candidate to provide the most basic form of proof. Right now the only thing we have is an affidavit from the respective political parties stating the person is eligible. How did they make that determination?

The problem isn't so much personally about Obama...his situation just brought the issue to light. In a court of law, which would be more accepted as proof: an affidavit or a birth certificate? I'm pretty sure the court would require the birth certificate. The equally troubling part of the whole situation is that there seems to be no recourse through the courts, as apparently no one has standing to make a case. Where are the checks and balances?
