Note these two arrest reports:

MSP Reports for St. Mary's County - Southern Maryland Headline News

DRUG ARREST: On Thursday, December 9 at 1:45 am, TFC M. R. Grimes initiated a traffic stop in the parking lot of Sheetz on Maryland Route 5, at Maryland Route 246 on a black Kia Spectra for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the driver, Corey Michael Arias, 18, of Mechanicsville, TFC Grimes observed what appeared to be marijuana in plain view. After positively identifying the CDS, a probable cause search was performed for additional items. Results of the search revealed additional CDS and CDS Paraphernalia. Mr. Arias was arrested for possession of the items and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Saturday, December 11 at 12:04 am, TFC J. S. Gibson initiated a traffic stop on a black Kia on Crimson Drive at Willows Road in Lexington Park for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the operator Corey Michael Arias, 18, of Mechanicsville, TFC Gibson detected the odor or burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle and Mr. Arias' person revealed CDS and CDS Paraphernalia. Mr. Arias was uncooperative and disorderly during the search of the vehicle and resisted arrested. Mr. Arias was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged with CDS Possession With Intent to Distribute. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.



Or maybe the MSP just can't get their dates right.

I wonder if two troopers didn't coordinate as to who would turn in the report for the incident.

I doubt it. To much difference in the details, definitely looks like two different stops. MD case search reveals that indeed we have seperate chargers. He's also operating under suspension, it appears, and like to drive fast and not wear seat belts.

He either needs to let off the weed or improve his driving skills.

Oh well, the DA will let him combine the incidents into one case, plead guilty to a single charge of possessing a metal spoon and a sentence of 'getting whipped with a wet noodle', fees waived.

Normally, I'd say that just because the police report says it's in "plain view" doesn't mean it actually was in plain view. However, in this case, I suspect that he was just an idiot and probably had a blunt behind his ear the whole time.

He learned his lesson...the second time, the weed was put away, he just exhaled in the cop's face.
