Most of this is pure caca. What are we to do with the illegal immigration problem other then what the President has proposed? Do an Israel by building a wall and place guards all along our borders? What good would that do? Those seeking entry will get over, under, or around it, some might even die trying. If they are already here, or are going to be, why not give them status to work here temporarily and tax them? For the immigrants to have status they will have to register, enabling the government to know who they are, thus giving a means of controlling them. Currently we don’t know who they are, only that there are 8 to 12 million of them. It is doing something to fix this problem that has been ignored for decades. The only thing the author suggests is maintaining the status quo and we know that doesn’t work.
