for years, Israel and its, faithful protector - the USA, have blindly backed the regional Middle East dictators who in turn also "protected" Israel
now that these dictators are weakened and some fallen, the Middle East people will not blindly go along with the US - Israel regional hegemony

You mean the assault in question, which wasn't conducted by any of the states involved in the recent uprisings? But by the same folks who have been assaulting them for years?
Could be all these uprisings lead the regimes that will go after Isreal, but its a bit early to say that for sure, I think.
And, BTW, a weapon used to save a life isnt a useless weapon at all. That would be a weapon at its best.
