It's been reported that these people are plants from left-wing groups (I don't recall which). It seems to me this is their new tactic... to go to these events everywhere and shout down GOP candidates. There seems to be no lowest level in which these people will stoop.

Mitt Romney: Shouting Match At Iowa State Fair

You should hear the lefts version of this same speech, you'd swear that he's at a DNC convention and that he's half retarded. Of course with this amount of editing there can't be any video along with it.

I've listened to a bit of commentary about this exchange, and it's been quite distressing. The ignorance that's out there with regard to how some things work (e.g. corporations, Medicare, our deficits going forward, payroll taxes) is scary.

I've not paid enough attention to be either a Romney fan or a Romney knocker, but he scored a couple of points with me as a result of that exchange.

Surprising, eh! (I know, not really.)

What I most paid attention to was the fact that the first person allowed him to give a response for all of 15 seconds before she began yelling again; the second person didn't want Romney to respond at all, but to stand there and take it. Regardless the philosophies of who was doing the yelling and who was on stage, I think it's obvious who was in the right and who was being absurd.

The Dems are going to attack the "Corporations are people too" line but I think it will back fire for everyone with a job or a 401K invested in Mutual funds

Well, if it wasn't for gross ignorance, and die-hard Socialist, the Dems wouldn't have any voters at all.

Heh. That's never happened from the Wingnuttians before.

All the wingnut yelling makes these events newsworthy which actually helps get the candidate's message out. Afterall, if it wasn't for the yelling and this video, I wouldn't have heard even 2 seconds of what Mitt had to say at that rally.

This is a gaht damn shame. Mitt gets handed a softball, right down the pipe, bottom of the ninth, bases loaded, 2-3 count and...takes.

There it was, the first lady screaming about fair share. So, ask her, what does she think is fair when, for instance, someone earning a million a year is paying 35% of that, $350,000, in federal withholding ALONE. Add to that state, local, he/she DOES pay the exact same SS/med as any and everyone else, spends his/her money on nice things, employs people, so, ####ing ask her, what, ma'am, is fair?

ALL the facts are on the side of TEA. Taxed Enough Already.

Use 'em.

Let her argue about deductions and loop holes and ask the question again; What is fair??? The top 1% pay, the $380,000 and up group, actually pay, loop holes and dodges and all, something like 40% of all personal income taxes and hold about 20% of the wealth.

Mitt, like too many other pols, will sit there and say the throw away, 'Don't agree with me? Vote for someone else." I want someone who will ARGUE that you SHOULD like me, or at the very least, like my ideas because they are RIGHT and they are FAIR and they serve the interests of the people of this nation. He did the same thing when he ran against Teddy for Senate some time ago; in a debate, he had Ted by the short hairs and refused to finish him off.

Makes me wonder about these people; are they sincere, at all or, just playing their role in the play and simply looking to get the lead?

So, about the comparison to Stenys event. From what I see, this was a campaign event, where the candidate speaks. Normally, questions not part of the program, but Mitt allowed it. And dealt with the questions without getting irate.

Steny, on the other hand promised a town hall because folks wanted to question him about the heath care issue. Then he did his best to pack the hall with union folks, and set up a apanel of his supporters, and let them speak for 45 minutes in support of Stenys plan before anyone got to ask any questions. Thats why people were yelling at him, becuase a supposed conversation between an elected official and his constituents was turned into a joke.

I left in disgust before the first question was even asked at that event.

Certainly both sides engage in this sort of tactic. On the right you'll find it more on an individual level. From the left it comes from organized groups that plant these people. And it is disproportionately more prevalent from the left. I mean how many such attacks have you seen from the right shout someone off a stage, throw pies, confetti, eggs, riot and destroy cities, start fights in peaceful protests…? Please provide examples, because I can provide plenty of examples of left wing VIOLENCE against right-wing groups or speakers.
