All Charles County Public schools, offices and centers will open on time on Wednesday, August 24, 2011. All employees should report to work on time. All in-service activities will be held as scheduled and at locations specified on the countywide in-service schedule. All other school-related activities will proceed as planned.
Calvert County Public Schools will be opening on August 24, 2011 as scheduled.
St. Mary's County Public Schools:
In light of the 5.9 magnitude earthquake that we experienced today, Tuesday, August 23, 2011, school system personnel inspected each building in the school system to ensure they were structurally safe for our students and staff. We are pleased to report that all buildings passed the inspection and our schools will open, as scheduled, tomorrow, Wednesday, August 24, 2011. However, we will continue our inspections and take needed action if additional concerns are revealed. We will work with our school crisis response teams to prepare them to respond to any aftershocks that might occur over the next several days and weeks. Our primary goal is the safety of our students and staff. We look forward to a great beginning to a great year! Thank you for your support.
