I can't help you out.. but you might want to state what you offer in return. Although what you are asking isn't unreasonable... but many might think it is if you expect this to be free... just saying...

As I said in the first artical, I will pay someone to come pick him up and take him to his party! It will only be about 10/15 mins from our house! Do not need any longer than that!

I don't see anything like that in the first post. But glad you clarified it now. You might get a better response. Strangers don't normally offer up things for free.

So, 10 or 15 minutes is what you expect to pay for this persons time?
Is it possible that their time investment is greater than the actual time they will be driving the husband?

Does the word "hire" ring a bell for you?

Yes, but it can be interpreted many ways. I was just trying to help the OP out to clarify and maybe get a response with someone that may have what they request. Oh well... good luck in their search.

Just to clarify things a little:

As per Merriam-Webster...

Definition of HIRE
1a : payment for the temporary use of something b : payment for labor or personal services : wages

Your welcome.

It was said that 10-15 minuets was all it would take, Not that was all you would be paid for.

and here I thought it was a fairly simple request.... :cds:

never on this forum does it turn out that way.

To the OP - nice try, I'm trying to come up with a better source then a post on this board but can't come up with one. A "Classic Car Club", etc, I'm not aware of anyone. I know a person who use to own... "know" as in I met them once or twice and can't recall their name.

If something clicks I'll let you know and it sounds like someone is having a big brithday on Dec 1.

Call Bert's or one of the other places where car junkies hang out to show off their ride. They'll probably have some good contacts for you.

:yay:

Thanks very much to everyone that seemed concerned about the question I asked! This is my first time on the forum and may well be my last! I read the forum just about every day and never have understood why some people have to be such smart as_ _'s! Thanks agin for those that tried to help me!

A good wife would have bought her husband a 1950s Chevy full restored and let him drive himself to his party.

just saying.

Smart azz comments keep the forum less boring, if someone gets terribly offended in a online forum, I would hate to see them deal with people in person. The 50s car thing is a good ideal, just make sure you give him enough singles dollar bills for the stripper in the back seat.

The idea is a great one. My brother had a '56 pink convertible caddy and provided more than a few escorts. The kids loved showing up in it when they went to homecomings and school dances, especially when the dance theme was a sock hop or something.

Good luck finding a car and driver.

Well it isn't easy to post on a public forum, we know. Regardless where you are. Do you know where you are? This isn't somdRomperRoom.com and expect everyone to know how to read your f****** mind. Can you read mine? When you post a request, you could get scrutinized (or maybe some kind folks offer to clarify your request)... instead you turn it into a 3rd grade rant... "and may be my last"... grow up!

Let's see how many classic car owners show up at your doorstep offering their service for 15 minutes. Will that be cash or credit card? sheezuz!
