It has been driving me crazy that he has a pack of smokes on the coffee table in his tent. If you would stop smoking you'd have some money to actually live somewhere other than a tent.

The article implies that they are homeless because they want to live together??? Meanwhile their kids are with families going to skool. Well why are they not with those families? OR why don't they stay at separate places UNTIL they can get an apartment. This article left more questions brewing and me wondering why they even wrote it.

I wonder why they didn't use their last names so we could look up what the "non-violent" open case is.

:yeahthat: I have to agree. I wondered the same thing as I read it. Furthermore, couldn't they utilize the address of whomever has the children as an address to put on a job application. There were many things about this article that left me saying, "hmmmmm."

At least the kids are staying with someone.

Yeah, I heard there have been around 1,300 folks out there. I have heard suggestions in both directions. I believe the article is trying to refer to the disconnect between two economies. I have to look at the Social-Psychology involved with the full picture of why this occurs to obtain a proper understanding. The article only touches briefly on an issue, here or there. Not everyone out there has the same situation. At least the STS bus provides them with nice transportation where ever they want to go.

If you can't afford to put food on the table & pay rent, you can't afford to smoke. Wonder how many of my tax dollars these deadbeats are sucking on.

The article said they get no assistance. She doesn't have an ID and something about his pending court case disqualifies him.

That guy looks familiar, but I'm not in Lexington Park much so I don't know if I would know them. They are making the decision to stay outside, it isn't like they are being forced. They choose not to go to shelters.

Exactly! Any reasonable person should wonder why. The real story ahould be the psychology behind why they would behave that way.

Certainly not as many as all the 6-figure-income government workers from Pax River.
Sounds like you are jealous. At least they have jobs, aren't living in a tent and buy smokes they can't afford. Of course we have 6 figure incomes at PAX. What do you think aeronautical and technical engineers should be paid? Or do you think every base employee makes 6 digits?

Yeah the big 6 figure income people also have spent years in college going beyound just a BS degree or hs diploma. We spend hours researching and reading boring things that could make a normal person's eyes bleed. We also might work weekends and put off "fun" things because software or hardware may get deployed. Not to mention minding the company that is kept because a clearance could get revoked for doing something illegal or wrong.

Yes we are overpaid base contactor's.

Then maybe you should sign up for one of them anger management workshops offered by the federal government to its employees. You know, the kind of workshop where a training specialist comes in and delivers some bogus training program that makes money for the trainer and provides job security for the employee in the Personnel Department that coordinates it.

That is only for workplace violence. They don't care if you kick someones ass off the clock.

This gets to the partisan stupidity that has broken our government. Being unyielding is stupid, but I submit that the left-wingers are as unwilling to learn as any others.
