The Southern Maryland Give Camp(SoMDGC) held their first event in March of 2010. During this event they had over 100 volunteers and helped 18 nonprofit/not-of-profit organizations. The volunteers came from as far North as New England, as far South as Hampton Roads, VA, and as far West as Leesburg, VA. This was truly an east coast event.
The goal moving forward is to grow this event, get more volunteers, help more organizations and the only way we can accomplish this is with your help. If you know of a charity/nonprofit/not-for-profit organization have them apply for our next givecamp. If you would like to volunteer, both technical and nontechnical volunteers are needed, even if you can only give us a few hours or a full weekend.
It is the dream of the SoMDGC that we continue this event until there are no organizations that need our help.
