Dunno where you live, but Clinton is closer than the Lowes in St Mary's County, right over the bridge?

I only go to Lowes in St Mary's for larger supply of stuff (Drywall). Everything else, I've been getting from Dunkirk Lumber or Ace.

Ace is expensive, but anymore, the time savings far out weighs the expense. If you need some paint to match another paint swatch or siding, etc, this place is top notch. They take the time and will keep trying, at their expense, to get it right. I had to match some weathered siding, and after 4 tries, they got it perfect! I couldn't believe it. And all I needed was a quart. Even after I said "Good enough", the guy at the paint counter said "If you've got the time, I can do better".

I've also gotten my windows from Ace, as well as Some power tools, etc. I could have gotten the tools cheaper else where, but the time they saved me by being close was worth the expense.

I've also gotten alot of lumber and windows from Dunkirk Supply in Lusby, as well as some hardware (screws, nails, etc), power tools and blades. The folks at Dunkirk are awesome. Never had an issue, they're always pleasant and I can get in and out of there and back on the job in about 45 minutes.

Calvert will never have one... They have a limit on building size in the county. They wouldn't even let WallyWorld expand.

I don't like the PG home depot. They have little 12" lcd monitor/cameras in every isle recording you as you pass by, making annoying beeping sounds and flasshing "recording in progress". It gives you the feeling that you've done something wrong....

It further gives you the feeling of how bad the area is...

A perfect example of why folks don't want big stores in Calvert.

You could always move to where there is one. Which you ought to do because all you do is ##### about living here. Didn't you notice these things before you moved here?

It wasn't that Calvert wouldn't let Wal-Mart expand but their original plans were way over the allowable size. They then got cute by trying to build two buildings separated by a foot or two. That really pissed the County off.

I think if you put one in Hunttinginton you will get CC and other SoMD people "on our side" using it....

Calvert is rural and hopefully will stay that way. If you like your neighborhood and schools enough, you'll get used to planning trips to the "big city" to do your major shopping. :huggy:

I have to admit I wanted the Walmart to open in Dunkirk and now I'm  So be careful what you wish for.

Still there, just on the otherside of the road and a little more north now. With there failure to be PC witht he All American Muslim show, I will be using Lowes alot more than any of the others.

Personally, we prefer True Value Hardware. The customer service has always been exceptional when we've gone there.

The greedy CEOs of Lowes and Home Depot couldnt come to agreeable terms with the greedy politicians in Calvert County would be my first guess...
