What happened: It's a construction site so workers put down temporary paths so officials wouldn't have to tromp through the mud to get do their meet and greets.

This is like the fuss about Kerry putting out portable johns so people wouldn't use his toilets. Well you're damned right - if I had a large crowd of strangers at my home, and a lack of bathrooms to accomodate them, I'd do the same.
It's really hysterical for someone supporting Kerry to accuse Bush of being a snob. Kerry has raised it to an art form.
