Gay Marine proposes in the White House

An active duty US Marine Corps captain proposed to his partner in the White House this past weekend, dropping to his knees in front of a number of tourists who snapped pictures of the newly engaged couple.

#Positioned in front of a Christmas tree in the Grand Foyer of the White House, 35-year-old Matthew Phelps asked his 26-year-old boyfriend, Ben Schock, to marry him on Dec. 15. The proposal marks the first time two gay men have gotten engaged inside the White House, as well as the first time for an active-duty member of the US military.

In My Opinion
sort of a desicration of the White House.
I mean, even more so than having the illegal socialist in there.

I'd like to know when everyone is going to get over all this hatred. Not in my lifetime I'm betting....

are you implying that anyone found not in favor of all things gay are haters?

In general, I'm of the belief "if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all". When someone repeatedly singles out and insults a minority of our human race, yes, I would consider that person to be a hater. I would find your invective comments to be offensive and I would consider it an attack on their personal dignity, especially when you imply they have no "morals" and you do simply because you are hetero. jmo

Where can one go to rediscover shame?

Certain behaviors should have appropriate reactions,...but if we keep conditioning our kids to never show repentence....or admit error, we end up with politicians who have no clue what remorse is.

What about shame?...one should be provoked to a sense of shame when one is doing something embarrassing. One should have a sence of propriety, cultural norms,...but, if encouraged to blot out any of those characteristics, someone woould feel it is appropriate to "do what comes natural" in any setting. Like having sex in a confessional within a Sanctuary...why look for shame when one is incapable of it?

So two disgusting queers, who probably have not been confronted with their vile behavior & unnatural lust are now being praised for something that should inspire...shame. To look on and say nothing, is condoning it. So, call me a hater, I could really care less, if you can summon the thought police to pay a visit, I'll greet them with both barrels.
These two vile individuals would have been taken out and soundly whipped just 100 years ago,...now, those who scold this decadence are the ones who are threatened.
May God's judgement be on them, and this wicked generation.

but, what if I find it offensive to constantly have to hear about these individuals demanding that I agree they are moral and normal?

Or is it ok to offend one group but not another.

and yes, I do find it offensive when the act out their gayness in public for the news media to swarm in on.

Exactly, God's judgement NOT yours as you too are of sinful nature. Are you not? What happened to the two most important commandments - the first one and the second? The first one is about ONE God and to love God, the second commandment is just as importaldnt and covers the bases for the others... thats "love thy neighbor". If you loved thy neighbor you would not covet and steal, kill, etc... You seem to have lost focus in your attempts to try to to cookie cut God's world to fit it to how you want it to be. Remember even Jesus ate with tax collectors. Jesus was about love, not hate and judgement.. perhaps you missed those scriptures. Its the 10 commandments, not 10 suggestions... loving thy neighbor was in there... being gay in a consentual mutual relationship was not. Sorrry. :huggy:

Ebb and flow... life is what it is... I'm sure other things bother you in life but you dont post every single incident. I doubt you are constantly having to hear about "these individuals".... as for normal, I dont see that there has every been anyone "normal". If you find it that disturbing, why don't you try praying for them instead of attacking them? Seems a bit hypocritical.

Eating with Tax collectors does not mean he endorsed their behavior. What did he say to the harlot thrown at him?..."Go & sin no more" If he has a problem with adultery,...you think he endorses anal sex among queers?......funny how you forgot those circumstances in your Beatle's mantra.
There is NO "cookie cutting" going on here,...try a serious read of Romans condemning/ostracizing those who practice abhorrent immoral behavior.
There is a reason God gave us a conscience: & it is not to pretend that horrible behavior is now acceptable. We have the Truth, it is ever before us, some just are too naive and shallow to recognize that there is judgment awaiting those who Mock or slander God's law, or misinterpret His forgiveness (as being a liberty to do whatever we "feel.")

If only you showed just as much passion to condemn all the other sinners. How about the one's that work on Sundays. Clearly in Exodus 35:2, they shall be put to death. Or what about those that shave their heads or men that have long hair or women with short hair (1 Corinthians 11:3-16), or heck, even tattoos, people that have sex on their periods, or even those that use the Lord's name in vain. Where is your equal contempt and disdain for all of those other sinners?? Everyone is of sinful nature. If you have fulfilled all the Law then good for you. :yay: Judge not lest ye be judged. Just sayn’.

Nt...

I did not even bother to start pulling apart the OT for a reason: The murky lines of "What applies to Jews?"...vs "What applies to Prosylites?" vs "what applies to Gentile believers in the NT?"

Plenty of confusion would follow, and arguments would remain unresolved.
The OT teaches us both History & God's sovereignty over all of mankind (with particular attention paid to HIS chosen people: the Jews.)

So...before we begin a long littany of "hey, what about...." rules in the OT that were directed at HIS people,...why not just stick with the NT since that applies to Christians/Heathens:
a) Christ condemned adultery (def: sex outside of marriage/fornication)
b) Gays practice this and clamor for the right to be married.
c) THUS, Christ would NOT EVER condone or exempt, or look the other way.

a) St Paul makes it clear, they have rejected the conscience that was GOD given, embraced what is unnatural, and now/forever face the consequences. Rom 1:26-29...6:15 8:5-8 2:8-10 14-16
b) The only way around this is to reject St Paul as speaking to Christians/Heathens...thus:
c) Rejection of much of the NT.

Should we as Christians sit mutely by and quietly nod in approval of what is clearly wicked? Should we create a blanket of grace that ignored abhorent behavior...and pretend that all behavior is now acceptable? (May it never be says St Paul--again in Romans)

Gay Marriage: Christians who believe in the authenticity of Scripture, who recognize that Marriage is a Holy union, who recognize the purpose for marriage is to sanction procreation........should not shrink from condemning this generation & this open wickedness, and attempting to re-introduce a concept now forgotten: SHAME.

(now, let the "HATER!!" crowd begin, those who call wicked =good and what is good=wicked, demand an end to "hate speech" and those who wish to change scripture to accommodate their own 'feelings')

So... you want to do NT and not OT... fine.. where does Jesus attack gay people??? And go to hate.... instead of love one another?? Just wondering...Name me one single scripture where Jesus condems gays to hell as many people do. It bothers me... people are hatters towards gay people, and then quickly run to the Bible to point otherwise, but yet ignore all the other sins in the Bible so they can beat their chest and flex their muscles over a minority of people.. ya'll ain't going to hell on their behalf... if that is what y'all believe, why not live and let live?? Why so threatened??? And now called out you want to run to point out NT as if the OT was inconsequential... wtf?? OT called out the birth of Jesus... was that inconsequential as well... THAT is what made Christ, Christ.. a prophesy... again.. cookie cutter Bible. Why do folks feel so threatend by gay people?
