Because the press is the propaganda arm of the Democratic party. Thus, they attack the enemy (conservatives, generally) and supress anything negative about the D's.

Let's say a Democrat is caught unconscious in the A&E Motel with a hooker that has a butcher knife sticking out of her face. CBS, MSNBC, ABC, CNN et. all would run a story like:
Maryland Senator allegedly found in motel with with an allegedly dead prostitute. Foul play may be suspected.
Now, let's say a Republican, on the other hand, is found in an interstate rest stop trying to pick up dudes. The same networks would run a story like:
Utah Republican was found in a Red State Rest Stop sticking his Republican crank member through a right-wing glory hole shooting conservative semen on young male, possibly a minor. Sources say that other Republican members of congress often leave this rest stop with man-juice in their beards.

Hey, their latest success is how Hillary managed to skirt out of her involving in the murder of....well, you know what I mean - the Democrats can do no wrong and get a pass on everything. Thanks God we have FOX News - at least we get to see the other-side of a story. Yea, yea, yea - I know they lean toward the Republicans - but OMG - one against a bunch of corrupt news stations is still not good odds!
