Looking at the picture if there WAS adhesive there that wall should show signs of damage.. hell the adhesive we used in the basement takes a layer of the concrete off of the floor when we pull something up.

It would have ripped the paint up, the paper on the drywall.. etc.. etc..

Looking at the "frozen" picture there is absolutely no damage on the wall

Not a windfall I would EVER want, but they need to pay and pay big.
