Circuit breaker question

I managed to short a circuit in the house. After many checks I think the circuit breaker is toast. Is this normal?

I ran an extension from a good circuit, so I am good until I get to Lowe's.

But you can figure out which one is bad if you flip the little switches....

Do you live in a older house? This happened to me a while back and I had to go around and look for our one and only outlet that was GFCI and reset it. Of course it was down in the basement behind a bunch of stuff.

Absolutely. Fairly rare, but it happens.

They can go bad but chances are you need to push it all the way past the off or tripped position then reset.

Yea, make sure you turn it off, then on.

If it is toast, just go to Lowe's/HD and get a new one, only a couple bucks.

Just make you you take note of the MFR of your panelboard. Scheider, Eaton, Square D, and Cooper all do different things.

It's fairly straight forward install, just make sure you cut the main breaker off before working on the panelboard.
